INTRODUCTION
The
term terrorism refers to any act aimed at unlawfully instilling fear in people.it
is a great threat to humanity and to the security of any nation.it includes
person or group of persons instigating violence, riots, rape, kidnapping, theft
etc. moreover, terrorism has nothing to do with any religion, a terrorist is a
terrorist not any Muslim, Hindu or Cristian.
CAUSES
There
are some basic causes for the development of terrorism which are production of
machine guns, hydrogen bombs, atomic bombs and other weapons on large scale. Rapid
growth of population, illiteracy among people, corruption, economic disparity and
public dissatisfaction with the government are some of the major causes of
terrorism in any country.
EFFECTS
Terrorism
is the cause of spreading fear and panic among the people. Due to any terrorist
attack thousands of people lose their businesses, animals are killed and above
all terrorism is a huge threat to people’s lives.
TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN:
Terrorism
is not only the problem of Pakistan but almost whole world is affected by it.
HISTORY
Tragedy of world trade center on 11 September, 2001 which according to America was done by Osama bin Ladin (the head of Al Qaeda) provided America with an opportunity to enter into Afghanistan and Pakistan joined US-led coalition in war against terrorism, but as a result Pakistan itself is facing terrorism. Taliban government was removed and new government of Hamid Karzai was appointed in Afghanistan.
EFFECTS

Around
80 thousand lives (including civilians and military officials) were lost in war
on terror.

Terrorism
has adverse effects on the economy of any country

Pakistan
became insecure and investors did not want to invest in any country having
security risks

a result of terrorism, tourism in Pakistan was declined which is one of the
major source of income of the country.

Anti-terrorism
Act was promulgated in 1997. It was intended to enhance the powers of agencies
to control and investigate terrorism and establish the special courts to
expedite trials of terrorist suspects
CONCLUSION
Terrorism
has become a burning issue that need to be tackled from the very beginning. Law
enforcement agencies cannot control terrorism alone. People of the nation will
have to unite to fight this growing threat of terrorism.
